Description

Send push notifications to your phone from any Bash or PowerShell script, or from your own app using PUT/POST requests, e.g. via curl on Linux or Invoke-WebRequest.

ntfy is a client for http://ntfy.sh, a free and open source HTTP-based pub-sub service. You can subscribe to topics in this app, and then publish messages via a simple HTTP API.

Uses:
* Notify yourself when a long-running process is done
* Ping your phone when a backup has failed
* Alerts when someone logs into your server

Example:

$ curl -d "Your backup is done" ntfy.sh/mytopic

Find more examples and usage instructions here: http://ntfy.sh/docs

What’s New

Version 1.3

This release (hopefully) fixes a few of the UI inconsistencies around messages not being shown or live updated. There are more updates to come, but I wanted to get this one out asap.

Excellent app. Would like a nickname feature

This app works great. Was able to setup and test in about a minute. Notification came through immediately and worked as expected.

Would like to request the developer to add a nickname feature for topics. This would make it easy to use hard to guess uuids for topic names while having a simple, human-readable nickname show up when the notification come through. Can’t imagine this would be difficult to implement and it would be very useful.

Great

Thank you so much for making this app, it’s wonderful for self hosters and text savvy individuals. Would love to be able to customize the alert sound so I don’t have a heart attack when minor things happen (though still want to be notified), I appreciate all your hard work.

Thank you for allowing self hosting

I use this for my homelab, and being able to self host it was my number one requirement. Not only can you self host this, but self hosting gets a first class treatment. It took me no time at all to setup with HomeAssistant, and just works reliably. Thank you so much!
